Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh is a lecturer and researcher in the field of natural resources and environmental science at the Institute of Environmental Science, Engineering, and Management, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. His expertise includes soil science, soil biogeochemistry, biochar, degraded soil restoration, and climate change, with research focusing on agricultural systems, particularly rice production in the Mekong Delta.

His research aims to elucidate soil biogeochemical processes, greenhouse gas emissions, and the role of solutions such as biochar and circular economy approaches in improving soil quality and reducing environmental impacts. With a substantial number of publications in reputable international journals and more than 2,800 citations, his work has significantly contributed to the scientific foundation for sustainable soil management and climate change adaptation.

In addition to his research activities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh actively participates in teaching undergraduate and graduate students, supervising postgraduate and doctoral research, and promoting both national and international collaborations. His research vision focuses on developing science-based solutions to enhance soil quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and advance sustainable agriculture in the context of global climate change.
